In April 2009 the red lights started to twinkle among North American countries such as Mexico and the US as well, the reason, the outbreak of a new kind of mutation of the H1N1 virus, which the media would soon start to call, The swine fever.
The word “pandemic” started to be in the mouth of many, being just speculation until the U.N.'s World Health Organization raised the level of alert to a 5 out of 6 possible, then, the pandemic was imminent.
Although the virologists have proven this new virus to be less fatal than other strains of the flu virus, that have killed millions over the years, the fear to the unknown that is so characteristic of humankind, brought millions to the edge and pushed them to even commit acts of discrimination and rejection, mainly among Mexican citizens all over the globe.
Sadly, this article is not focusing on the late facts but in some even more alarming statements which I will disclosure now.
Every time I get to think that the stupidity of humanity can’t be bigger, something happens that proves me wrong, for instance, the great diversity of “reasons” or “explanations” given in Mexico for the new virus.
I cant believe that someone really and strongly believes that “Carlos Salinas” is behind this, or that this is just another diversion for us to look the other way while they sell “Pemex”, or that this is just a drug dealer strategy to cover his operations for a while, or that the different cartels are gathering forces to bring the power down from the hands of the president, really, I have heard so many of this ridiculous conspiracy theories that it just sounds more pathetic every time.
Let’s stop being irresponsible and paranoid, let’s gather in arms against this new disease, let’s please oh please start developing a social conscience and listen to all the recommendations the health authorities are making, but most of all, let’s act as a raze and protect each other by caring how my caution or lack of it can affect the others.
